Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 June 2026

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Boafo One, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Boafo One on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that business. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform.

Platform description

Boafo One is a business discovery and verification platform that provides:

  • Business listings for SMEs operating in Ghana
  • Business discovery and search for customers
  • Ownership verification and the Verified by Boafo One badge
  • Location information, including addresses, GPS, and branch details
  • Enquiry tools that connect customers with verified owners
  • Directory services, including categories, reviews, and trust signals

Business listings

  • Listings may be submitted directly by business owners.
  • Listings may be imported from publicly available business information to help customers find businesses that have not yet joined.
  • Any business can claim ownership of its listing and request edits.
  • Anyone can request corrections to a listing using the Report a problem flow.

Until a listing is claimed and verified, the information shown is a best effort based on public sources and community input. Boafo One does not guarantee that unclaimed listings are complete or current.

Verification

  • Verification is a review process. Boafo One checks ownership evidence supplied by the claimant.
  • Verification confirms that we have reviewed ownership information. It does not guarantee service quality, business performance, or transaction outcomes.
  • Verification may be revoked at any time if new evidence is received, if an account is misused, or if a dispute is decided in favour of a different owner.
  • Fraudulent claims, forged documents, or impersonation may result in immediate suspension and removal of the listing.

User responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account or claiming a listing.
  • Only claim businesses that you own or are formally authorised to represent.
  • Not impersonate another business, person, or Boafo One staff member.
  • Not submit fraudulent ownership claims or forged supporting documents.
  • Not misuse the platform, including scraping at scale, reverse engineering, or abusing enquiry tools.
  • Keep your sign in credentials confidential and notify us of suspected account compromise.

Prohibited activities

  • Creating fake listings or duplicate listings
  • Fraud, including bait and switch listings or scam payment details
  • Impersonating a business, employee, or Boafo One reviewer
  • Spam, including unsolicited bulk enquiries or review manipulation
  • Abuse, harassment, or threats targeting other users or businesses
  • Uploading content that infringes intellectual property or violates Ghanaian law

Ownership disputes

If more than one party claims a business, Boafo One follows a structured process:

  1. Dispute submitted by email or through the listing
  2. Existing owner is notified
  3. Evidence is requested from both sides
  4. Boafo One investigates and may consult public records
  5. A decision is recorded in the audit trail
  6. The listing is updated if necessary, and the verification status may change

During an investigation, sensitive edits may be temporarily restricted and the verification badge may be suspended. Decisions are made in good faith based on the evidence available. See our Trust and Security Centre for the full process.

Location and contact information

Business locations, opening hours, phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, and websites change over time. Boafo One reviews high risk changes before publication, but information can still become outdated between reviews. You should independently verify critical information before relying on it, especially before sending money or visiting a location.

No endorsement disclaimer

Boafo One does not endorse, guarantee, or warrant any business listed on the platform. Verification is a review of ownership information only. Any transaction between a customer and a business is solely between those parties. Customers are responsible for their own due diligence.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boafo One, its affiliates, officers, and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Boafo One in the 12 months before the claim, or GHS 100.

The platform is provided on an as is and as available basis. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, complete, or up to date, that the platform will be uninterrupted, or that any business listed will meet your expectations.

Fraud prevention

  • Anyone can report suspected fraud, fake listings, or scam contact details through the Report a problem flow.
  • Security reports are routed to security@one.boafo.digital and reviewed within 2 business days.
  • High risk changes to address, GPS, phone, WhatsApp, website, and ownership are reviewed before they go live.
  • Boafo One may suspend listings or accounts during an active investigation.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@one.boafo.digital. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, submit fraudulent claims, or put other users at risk. Listings that exist in the public interest may remain visible after account termination, subject to verification status.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The Last updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. Continued use of Boafo One after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

Frequently asked questions

How does verification work?+

A business owner submits a claim, then Boafo One reviews ownership evidence such as registration documents, official ID, or a verified contact number. Once confirmed, the listing receives the Verified by Boafo One badge.

Can a business lose verification?+

Yes. Verification can be revoked if ownership evidence is later found to be false, if an account is misused, or if a dispute is resolved in favour of a different owner.

How do I report a fake business?+

Use the Report a problem button on the listing and choose Fake listing, or email security@one.boafo.digital. Security reports are reviewed within 2 business days.

How do I dispute ownership?+

Email security@one.boafo.digital with the listing URL, your relationship to the business, and any evidence such as registration documents or proof of address. We notify the current owner and review evidence from both sides before deciding.
